In our activities, we use the most modern standards to provide high quality medical translation services. Today we are guided by the international quality standard for the provision of translation services
ISO 17100 and the standard for general management in the organization ISO 9001. It means that we have standard processes which are described and outlined and this allows us to do our work with the guaranteed high quality. Moreover, we add some actions to our processes in order to provide the client with additional value as a bonus, as we believe that the customer should be given a little more than what he has already paid for.

We monitor the translation and localization industry and try to apply the latest technologies in this area, including appropriate software that helps us get things done faster and better.

Translation Process

The translation process begins when our project manager receives a translation request. The manager evaluates the volume, terms, languages for translation and, if necessary, asks the client clarifying questions in order to ultimately provide the client with exactly same what the client expects.
The entire procedure for receiving and coordinating a project with a client usually takes from 5 minutes to 2 hours. This is considered a quick response to the client’s request. Then the project manager, together with the resource manager, select the linguists to carry out this particular project to perform it with the best quality and deliver in time.
Our translators work strictly according to the standards commonly used in the translation industry and follow the instructions of the client. Depending on the subject and the client’s requirements, the translation can be performed by a linguist with experience in a specific subject area (for example, hygiene products).

It could be also done by a specialist with medical education and professional background in a specific subject area (for example, an orthopedic surgeon) who should be fluent in source language and is a native speaker in the target language. Such specialists are also often recruited by us for subject matter expertise and editing. The translators self-review the translation again after the translation process, as well as check spelling and quality. A better quality translation is obtained if the other independent linguist edits the text after the translator, and accordingly, the quality of the translation becomes even better if the text is checked further by the proofreader.
Thus, after working with the translation of 3 independent linguists (translation, editing and proofreading — the so-called TEP abbreviation which is widespread in the industry), the client receives an almost perfect translation, ready for use. We strongly recommend the customers order this set of services for a guaranteed result. And moreover, the project is controlled by our project manager between each step, when additional errors could be identified.

Tools and Metrics

To do our job accurately and on time we skillfully use translation tools. Thanks to computer-assisted translation tools (CAT) we translate significant volumes of text in less time, while maintaining the required consistency of translation and terminology. We work with such CATs as SDL Trados StudioWordFast PromemoQXTMSmartcat, etc. We are ready in a short time to master any computer-assisted translation tool if it is really needed for the customer. Naturally, we try to carry out frequent updates and work with the latest versions of our software.
Moreover, working additionally with translation memory and glossary management programs, we improve the quality of translation further, as well as its consistency and appropriate terminology. Software like OlifantHeartsome TMS EditorSDL Multiterm, etc. helps us to do that.
We check the quality of translations using the Verifika QA tool. In addition to this, the quality of translators’ work we assess, based on the latest recommended MQM metrics, which allow us to monitor the quality of translators’ work for a long period of time, as well as to monitor their progress and professional development.
Our projects are managed in the Protemos translation management system, which allows our managers not to miss anything even when we take on large and complex projects.

“We are a close-knit team of professionals that love what they do, our business processes are well-turned, we have correctly selected software and all the above helps us to do our work at the highest level.”
